About the beach
Fuencaliente de la Palma · La Palma
Echentive (also known as Playa Nueva) was formed during the 1971 Teneguía eruption. Its dark sand, lava flows, and nearby rock pools allow visitors to appreciate the volcanic landscape right down to the water's edge. This beach is best visited as part of a tour of southern La Palma rather than for a day spent relying on extensive amenities. The natural pools are subject to ocean conditions; they should not be considered sheltered when rough seas roll in.
