La Cantería / Playa de Atrás is located near Órzola, beneath the northern edge of the Famara massif, facing the island of La Graciosa. The light sand and cliffs create an open, rugged setting—very different from the pools at Caletón Blanco. The waves attract primarily experienced surfers. It is a beach to choose for the scenery and for watching the ocean; the mountain backdrop does not mean the water is sheltered from the elements.
