AURA scores every beach hour by hour, using wind direction relative to the coastline, wave height, weather and air temperature, then surfaces the ones worth going to today.
How AURA chooses the right beach for you
For each beach we know its orientation (which way it faces) and its main exposures. The score combines: offshore vs onshore wind, wind strength, wave height, weather code, air temperature. A beach that faces north-west is brilliant with a sirocco from the south, and rough when the mistral blows — AURA reflects that automatically.
Coast by coast: where the best beaches are
The north-east (Costa Smeralda, Gallura) is famous for granite coves and turquoise water. The west coast (Sinis, Costa Verde) has long, wild sandy beaches.
