How the AURA score works
Each beach gets a 0–100 score (and 1–5 stars) that combines wind direction relative to the coastline, wind strength, wave height, weather and temperature. Offshore wind (from land to sea) keeps the water flat and raises the score; onshore wind creates chop and lowers it. Rain and storms drop the score sharply.
