About the beach
La Oliva · Fuerteventura
El Águila—also known as La Escalera—is a strip of golden sand lying beneath the cliffs of La Oliva’s west coast. Its name ("The Staircase") refers to the descent to the beach, a route you must also factor in for the return journey. The amount of space between the cliffs and the water depends on the tide; it can shrink significantly when the waves are strong. This is a beach to choose for its scenery and seclusion, rather than for easy swimming conditions.
