El Viejo Rey is the large beach in the La Pared area frequented by surfers; the sand, cliffs, and westerly waves give the landscape a raw power distinct from the eastern beaches of Jandía. The open space invites walking and also attracts naturists. It is a great place to watch the surfing or spend time by the water's edge; however, exposure to waves and wind calls for caution, and swimming is an activity that requires careful consideration.
