About the beach
Yaiza · Lanzarote
Janubio is a long stretch of black sand situated next to the salt pans on Lanzarote’s west coast. The contrast between the dark sand, the sea foam, and the salt pools makes it a particularly interesting spot for photography and walking. It is a beach better suited for contemplation than for swimming, as the waves can be strong and the sea is unsheltered. Combine your visit with a tour of the salt pans, but be sure to stay well clear of the surf.
